An exciting game for 2 players based on the pre-war pencil and paper game called Battleships. Try to sink your opponent’s battle ship before they sink yours.
Object of the game:
Sink your opponent’s fleet before they sink yours!
Assemble the battle board:
When laid open and flat with the printed grid uppermost the box becomes the battle board. The cardboard screen must be inserted in the gap in the middle of the board to prevent your opponent from discerning the distribution of your armada. Each player has four vessels to place in their grid horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
- 4 RED TILES denotes an AIRCRAFT CARRIER.
- 3 WHITE TILES denotes a BATTLESHIP.
- 2 GREEN TILES denotes a FRIGATE.
- 1 BLUE TILE denotes a SUBMARINE.
Tiles of the same colour must be laid together and each vessel must not cross another or be laid on top of another.
Play:
A toss of a coin decides which player goes first and a shot is fired by calling a letter from A to E and a number from 1 to 12 i.e. B-9. If your opponent has no tile on the specified square he or she must shout in a loud voice, “MISS!” and he or she then takes a shot. If your opponent has a tile on the specified square he or she must shout in a loud voice, “HIT!” and you can take another shot. Record shots taken on the printed grids provided with a pencil to avoid repetition, use a cross to denote a miss and a circle to denote a hit. Should all the tiles of the same colour be hit then that vessel is sunk and should be declared so- i.e. if both green tiles are hit that player should shout “You sank my Frigate!”
HOLD FAST! ENJOY YOUR BATTLE!
